I read "World War Z" first, and was a little bored by this book. Most of what it covered I already understood from "WWZ". I would recommend reading this book before "[b:World War Z|8908|World War Z An Oral History of the Zombie War|Max Brooks|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1165766703s/8908.jpg|817]" if you are planning on reading them both. Otherwise, this book may feel anticlimactic.
Super cool read - and I feel totally prepared for a zombie apocalypse should one arise ;)

It got a bit boring there in the middle because after all, it's a manual. So it got repetitive after a while but then came the zombie stories so it was forgiven.
Very quick read, finished in less than a day. I so badly wanted it to be longer. Loss of one star because none of it is actually new content, it's the vignette's from The Zombie Survival Guide illustrated. The exploration of the same stories in a new medium is super fun, don't get me wrong, however I just can't bring myself to give it that last star.
This isn’t a long book, only around 250 pages, but it felt much longer than that. I loved the idea and the premise, but unfortunately the joke wore thin around 70 pages in. By that time I didn’t feel like anything new was being offered and it just became repetitive and, unforgivably, contradictory.
I welcomed the section summarising historical accounts of zombie outbreaks and attacks, that was an interesting section, and it’s clear that this becomes his inspiration for writing World War Z, which I am yet to read and still will do. The word manual is not a misnomer: it reads as dry as reading instructions for putting together a shelving unit. If you don’t like the joke after the first few pages you will not like this book in the slightest. Personally I thought the writing was the strongest part of the book, and I love that it was written without a tongue in a cheek so that it could sound more plausible.
The book did feel like one of those novelty gifts you buy someone at Christmas when you don’t know what else to get them but you heard that once they watched an episode of The Walking Dead. After reading it I was not convinced otherwise. A decent little novelty, and I’m sure that there are those who will enjoy it much more than me, and there will be those who will dislike it more than me.

Informative and surprisingly fun to read. This could be genuine advice given, and actually I’ll be holding onto this book just in case.
That’s all I can say about it really lol.
