I pride myself on trying to finish every book I start, but this was a total DNF for me. I love when authors incorporate humor or more informal language into books, especially when the topics they’re trying to discuss are heavier or informative, but PR’s writing felt like it would’ve been best suited for a podcast or social media post, not a book. There were too many things happening at once and the tone lost me, even though I wanted to hear what she had to say. I wish she’d been more direct and cut out a lot of the jokes, it was just too much for me.
I enjoyed this far more than her other book, which I ended up not finishing. I'm still not the biggest fan of how she talks, but overall, this set of essays was more relatable to me.

Great!! Got somewhat bored in the middle when Phoebe really went into being a boss but a well written and thought out, in a very similar vein to her other books. Now I feel weird about sitting on my own bed in my outside clothes, if I’m honest…
DNF. I love Phoebe Robinson but the writing was just way overstimulating for me. Maybe this would've worked better for me as an audiobook but I found the asides and tangents to be too much.

I really enjoyed listening to Phoebe Robinson read her collections of essays. The audiobook is the best way to read this book because it's better to hear her narration style and word play (hashtag priz). I laughed at her pop culture references and reflected on Covid-19 times along with her. It's important to read perspectives outside of our own. Her essay on white saviorism is the highlight of the book for me. This is my first book by her and I would love to read her previous books.

I fucking love Phoebe Robinson! She is an absolute Boss and I loved this collection. Extremely timely hitting on numerous topics of the last 2ish years, such as the BLM movement, pandemic, and the capitalism of “self care.”
