Audiobook- of the five stories they included in the audiobook I only found one interesting and to the scale of the Stephen King books I enjoy. It did let me know I have no interest whatsoever in reading the Dark Tower series.

I finally read this book after rereading The Dark Tower series. This collection contains a Dark Tower tale and, while that was fine and good, the rest of the story stands on its own. Most of the 14 tales are captivating - highlights being "All That You Love Will Be Carried Away," "Autopsy Room Four," "L.T. Theory of Pets," "1408," and "Riding the Bullet." Any lover of King should obviously read this book but someone new would find this to be a very accessible introduction to the master of horror.

A great collection of short stories and novellas that are mostly very, very good.

I think one of the best things about this collection is the notes at the beginning of each one, a kind of origin story of the story.

We have a ample variety of stories here. Some, like 'Autopsy Room Four' are darkly humorous; others, like ' The Man in the Black Suit'  are very creepy. Some, like 'The Death of Jack Hamilton' are not horror stories, at all, while others deal with a horror of a non-supernatural kind, like 'In the Deathroom'. But all of them are entertaining and engaging.

I particularly enjoyed 'L.T.’s Theory of Pets' but my love for the 'Dark Tower' series placed ' The Little Sisters of Eluria' in a high place, too.

Oh, and '1408'! Because I just have a thing for haunted hotel rooms *laughs*

So yes, a very enjoyable ride for a wide range of King's stories :D
