Have you ever read a book, finished it, wandered off, then came back a couple months later and started to read it again because you forgot you read it? No? That's what happened with me with this book. Borrowed it from the library, read it, returned it, forgot it, borrowed it, and started reading it... only to remember it. Sadly, I don't think that says much about the story.

I really liked it. It was pure entertainment for me. The heroine was strong independent with a dark past, who just happens to be the Grim reaper. She has been 'haunted' by this dusty shadow her whole life, it have saved her life many times, and yet she fears it. The ghosts attracted to her because of her job fear it. Although she feels some comfort that it's always there, since her birth, which she remembers from her first breath on. Oh, and her eventual love interest, is something. -Very different, very mysterious, and sexy. There is sex, written well, not out of place in the story. Not a serious, break you with details book, lots of snark. I just enjoyed it. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I really enjoy corny paranormal books, but this one was way over the top. Every other sentence / thought from our main character was supposed to be a joke, which got old really fast.
I did enjoy the premise though, having a grim reaper has your main character is fun and unique. But overall I don’t think it was executed well.

I absolutly loved this book. I was really suprised that the book was that good, considering I have never heard of this author.

This book was amazingly fun, well-written and likable. Yet it took me over a month to read it. Why? Simply because I wasn't into it.
Don't get it wrong, the story is great and you'll probably laugh several times at Charley's humor. But I have to admit the beginning isn't that interesting. It's long, quite boring, and to be honest, all the interesting things happen in the last 100 pages.
Will I read volume 2? Probably because I wanna know what will happen to Charley and Reyes.
Last but not least, I think I wouldn't have finished this book if Charley wasn't that fun. Without her great sense of humor, it would just be a boring and annoying romance novel.

I enjoyed the paranormal elements more than the actual mystery solving. Funny at times. It’s a good first book and I’ll be continuing. I think they’ll be good palate cleansers.
Invested in the relationship.

This had been on my TBR for a long time and I enjoyed it too. But I don't think I will be reading further in the series.

Última lectura del 2020 y lo cierro de la mejor manera. Que lindo reencontrarme con Charley Davidson después de tantos años.
Pese a que hay cosas que me hicieron ruido en esta relectura, disfruté muchísimo de ella.

I thought I would love this book. I wanted to love this book. I bought the first and second books in the series because I thought that I would love this. The main character is immature. The t-shirt and bumper sticker quotes are annoying. There's no plot, and every time I read about her saying how good looking Reyes is I have to remind myself that I'm not reading twilight.
