3 and a half stars: a quick, fun read! It was cute but good gracious they didn’t waste time doing anything lol
3.5⭐️
This was silly and fun and made me laugh so its a win ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Was it a bit ridiculous? Yes. Absolutely. Did I have fun reading it tho? Also yes. Very quick lil read and a whirlwind romance. No courting here ladies and gents. Straight to “I would die for you, you’re the love of my life” territory

I love this story I love a good Christmas Novella and throw in a grumpy / judge with a shy baker so cute, Alice has been infatuated with Micheal for as long as she can remember, she has the opportunity to meet him in a baking competition and sparks start to fly. This was the cutest Christmas story. Great way to start Christmas season.
Sweet and spicy Insta love novella for fans of GBBO.

Long time crush (h)
No ick age gap (30 vs 45)
Fun, fast read.
I liked Michael’s possessiveness and assertiveness; he’s old enough to know what he wants out of life. Alice is so adorable and while she was down on her luck, she has a marketable talent and a good support system; her fantastic cousins.
But the nickname “baby cakes”? CRINGE

Nothing better than getting the celebrity chef you’ve been crushing on as your Christmas present! I can always count on S.J. Tilly to give me the smut fix I need in my life! This insta-lust story is the perfect example. Fast paced, funny and OMG super steamy! Loved Alice and Michael so much. Seeing these two drooling over each other during a dessert competition show was super entertaining and it was just as if I was watching it on TV and the chemistry they had the entire time was off the freaking charts! Alpha hero who is completely obsessed with the heroine and will do anything to have her and a super sweet, feisty heroine with a heart of gold! Just like every single book S.J Tilly writes! I would’ve read it in one sitting if I could’ve.
S.J. Tilly has never disappointed me!
Received this ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review. Can’t wait for more!

When I saw that there was a book written around a holiday baking show - heck yeah I was on board with this.
What could be better than a baking show mixed with Christmas? Behind the scenes smexy times between one of the judges and contestants. I mean, that's I'd like to think happens.
I loved the plot of this, it was really cute and it was a mixture of Gordon Ramsey and Nailed It. I loved the details that went into the actual baking aspect of it, it did really bring to life what happens inside the mind of the baker and the judge, and parts were pretty comical - like when the snowman cake was so awful, Michael spit it out.
However, I felt like the rest of it was rushed and cliche. It's definitely insta-love, which isn't my thing. I feel like this should have been a full length novel rather than a novella. And it likely could have been a series to see how the Canada baking show went behind the scenes
