It took me a bit to get into the story, the classic noir style writing was very unfamiliar at first and I just couldn’t quite take it seriously. I liked some of the twists but overall I just think it wasn’t quite for me.

Harkaway uses the noir genre to paint a fascinating portrait of a near-future society where the haves are scientifically-enhanced beings known as Titans and the have-nots are ordinary mortals.  There’s a satirical edge to the crime/thriller plot which reflects our current society.
