The more I think about this book the more it annoys me. this is a very fun book but I'll be honest the epilogue really rubbed me the wrong way. It's a fun book, all the characters are very well written and likeable. I really like that JJ is pansexual, it doesn't come up much but it was very nice to see. I like Ryan and Ana's relationship at the start, it's very cute and healthy and I'm glad it ends on good terms. the ensemble cast are great, Henry really develops over the book and his complete honesty was very relatable. Aaron was well written, I loved to hate him. Ana being so forgiving of him does make sense for her character even if it's frustrating for the reader. The start of Ana and Nate's relationship is fine, I think the rivals/enemies thing didn't land for me because it was very one sided. Nate wanted to do right by Ana from the start so some of the things she does come off as almost spiteful. it's fine once they're more friendly though and their relationship is nice. I thought the sex scenes were fine, i wasn't exactly the target audience though. By the end of the book the sex scenes dragged, they really felt like fluff keeping me from what i was interested in. The drama around the broken rink is good as is the drama around Aaron. I didn't think the twist that Aaron hurt himself at a party and blamed it on Nate was surprising or compelling. Nate's jealousy can get a bit annoying but i like Ana and Nate communicating properly. I thought Ana's food issues were well written and i loved how far she'd come by the end of the book. Her living with the hockey team was very fun to read. The accident with Ana falling into the frozen lake felt a bit like a nothing event. It didn't seem to effect the plot much. I thought that the coach didn't take Aaron kissing Ana without consent in the skating comp at the end of the book seriously enough. I was pleased to see Aaron kicked to the curb though. It was a very fun book but the epilogue really really really affected my enjoyment of the book. The fact that Ana is so skating-focused and explicitly said she wanted to adopt made her getting pregnant at the end of the book a real slap in the face. I just really hated it, it feels so hetronormative and out of character. Still, a good book if you ignore the epilogue.

Fuck. This. Shit. D-N-F
I can’t. I really can’t. That was my last straw. Anastasia has got to be the most annoying mc I’ve ever come across. NOPE. BIG FUCKING NOPE.
