Initially I was hesitant about the college setting but it’s really just a backdrop.

I think this book was what I was looking for at the moment, something cute and easy to read.
There were times where it was a bit predictable but it was fine overall.

I LOVED the side characters in this book. Especially the hockey team. The only thing that made me want to keep reading was those characters. The main character was unlikeable, and how she blatantly ignored all concerns from everyone around her about her abusive partnership drove me nuts. She constantly claimed to be self aware but never actually acted accordingly. I loved the love interest, but he definitely settled. It also wasn't really an enemies to lovers because they got together so quickly. Also WHY did she need to nearly drown. It didn’t feel relevant for needed in the story whatsoever

This book reads a lot like PWP for stretches at a time, but then the plot sneaks in and it’s actually a good book. Not a lot of college sports romance books take on disordered eating, toxic friendships, adoptee/adopted parent expectation dynamics, and sports leadership without toxic masculinity. I’m tempted to give this 4 stars, but it’s not quite my vibe with that much college binge drinking.

I quite enjoyed Icebreaker, but the fact I had to skim between page 350 and 380 really wasn’t fun. I enjoyed the downfall of the c**t, and the epilogue was very cute.

R.I.P Anastasia’s
pussy.

I have mixed feelings about this book, I liked the story for the most part (hence the 4.75 star review), but sometimes it made me groan out loud mainly because of the FMC. I hit the 130-page mark and I still couldn't find it in me to like Anastasia that much, which is hard because I'm a sucker for characters like her, but the author sometimes didn't write her as "likeable". Further into the book she gets better and becomes a much more enjoyable character to read. I did get a bit annoyed at her
every time Aaron came into the picture and she would defend him so much. I worried about how her situation with him would end, but her cutting ties with him was a true power move.

One highlight of the book was definitely Henry, love that little golden retriever, and the rest of the hockey guys.
In the end, I had a good time reading it, couldn't wait to finish it and it did make me want to read the second book in the series, which is good I guess.

overall, it was enjoyable, but it was nowhere near as revolutionary as social media has made it out to be. i do like anastasia and nate’s character arcs, and both characters are reasonably fleshed out. i really liked the found family trope, but it did seem a little too perfect at times. there were certain parts that made me question why i was reading the book at all though. at the start, the nicknames everyone had were just too much, but as the book went on it got better. the epilogue was admittedly cute although the trope that was introduced in it was sooo predictable.

overall a good and quick read but i don’t think i’d pick it up again.

Cute. I liked how these characters knew how to use their words when things got hard instead of falling into the miscommunication trope.
