Shattered is the first book in the Willow Creek series. This book is told from dual points of view from Harper and Logan.

Harper is on the run from an abusive cop husband. When she found out she was pregnant she knocked him out with sleeping meds and took all of the money she could find and run. She's been on the run for the last 5 years.

Harper moves in next door to Logan. He starts to have feelings for her, but knows she's hiding something. His brother is a cop and is determined to find out what happens. Harper kept to herself until she met Logan. She has feelings for him as well, and they start seeing each other. However when Logan's brother gets involved Harper feels she has to go on the run again.

When Harper's abusive husband shows up can Logan be there? Can Harper keep her son safe? This book is a clean romance, and I really enjoyed it. I can't wait for the next audiobook in the series.

A cute clean romance. This was my first book by this author and I probably won’t pick up another. It was a little too cliche for me. And if this man called her sugar one more time I might have thrown my kindle. 60 times. Seriously. 60. I don’t think he used her name once.

I mostly skimmed this book. Most of the internal dialogue was boring and unnecessary.

ARC/ Honest Review
This was my first book by A.K. MacBride. And I look forward to reading more of her work. Harper and Logan both broken by things that happened in the past overcome it all. I absolutely loved this book.

After suffering years of abuse from her policeman husband Sarah finds out she’s pregnant and decides to run.
She changes her name to Harper with the help from a women’s refuge and ends up in Willow Creek where she gets a job working in a vets for Chase Jackson. She also lives next door to his brother Logan who she has the hots for but is unaware he feels the same about her. Lovely clean romance with an HEA I listened to an ALC copy of this and loved both narrators .

New to me author AK Macbride writes a moving story of survival, self-discovery, real life emotions and connection. It's an emotional slow burn romance, with twists and turns that will keep you in edge.

I received an Advance Listener Copy (ALC) and am enthusiastically leaving an honest review. Stacy Gonzalez and Gregory Salinas put a lot of heart and steamy sexiness into their performance. #TheFlock
