This is the first book in the Psychic Eye series by Victoria Laurie.

The storyline was good and the characters highly enjoyable with a nice possible future love story between Abby who is a professional psychic and a homicide detective Dutch.

Abby and Dutch met on a blind date and immediately connected and were attracted to each other. That means until they found out about each other´s professions. Dutch, being a sceptic about all things paranormal and Abby, considering all the police officers conservative, always suspicious about psychics and not open minded at all, that just couldn´t work for either of them. But then one of Abby´s clients is murdered by a serial killer and out of guilt she launches herself in the investigation showing the sexy Detective a whole another world.

It was a quick, easy read in the light mystery genre. I will definitely read the next books.

Fun, light mystery. There were a few things that bugged me about the main character (like that she never looked to see who was calling or said, "hello". She would just assume she knew who was calling and start talking to them.) but overall it was an entertaining book and I'd keep reading the series.

* This Review is of the audio format of this book. *

This book is my introduction to not only the "Psychic Eye Mystery" series, but also to the writing of Victoria Laurie. I'm going to give her Ghoul series a try next. As for this book, it held my attention --- there's a tiny bit of romance, a bit of humor, and a bit of mystery. I like a good detective story and I find the subject matter of psychics/mediums to be interesting. I enjoyed the characters, which I'm sure are further developed as the series goes on.
* I have a 3 book rule when it comes to series: I like to read at least 3 books in a series before I pass judgment on the series as a whole/ decide if I'll continue on in the series. *

I would definitely check out more books in this series, but I will most likely check out my local library for the rest. I didn't love the narration of this book. Don't get me wrong -- it wasn't horrible by any stretch of the imagination, but I only have so many credits. There are other authors/narrators that I'd spend money &/or a credit on before the next book in this series.

Characters --- 4 stars (since I would like to see more of them.)
Story line --- 3.5 stars
Narration --- 2.5 to 3 stars

Overall --- 3 to 3.5 stars. (Well worth the sale price!)

Nice bit of fun. Most interesting was the wording Abby used to give her readings. I suspect same kind of wording used by the author who is a professional psychic.

The voice of the audible narrator ruined it for me.

I read it again and actually made it through! It's predictable and chatty and Abby makes really foolish choices. But it is slightly entertaining.
