I am really familiar with Victoria Laurie's writing style, having mass consumed the entirely of the Ghost Hunter series. I was a girl obsessed. After reading the final installment that came out just this past January I was in need of a new series. I have no clue how I didn't read Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye before now, but I am glad I finally got around to it.
This is an amazing read. Abby Cooper is a psychic intuitive operating out of the Detroit area. Although she is able to help her clients with their love lives, Abby is not having much luck with her own. Going out on a limb and joining an online dating website, she meets Dutch. Sharing her gift with him, she tells him about some facts about a missing persons case she saw on the news prior to their date. She is reluctant to go to the police about any of her knowledge because from her experience, the police force tend to be more skeptic than believing and Abby has no desire to end up in jail.
As the story unfolds, Abby begins to see where her gift can be helpful, especially to those in need of her talents.
This is an amazing read if you are looking for a fun cozy series.

I never ever write reviews of books. However this book was so bad that it prompted me to write this review in order to warn everybody away from it!!! I have read the first three in the Abby Cooper series. I was drawn to them because of a psychic woman solving crimes! It sounds like a great read, right? Wrong. The writing style is very immature. I feel like, when I read a description, or a conversation, that it is the kind of writing that I would use! I am not a professional writer and I would like to read a book by someone that is. I do not like Abby Cooper, I do not like her FBI boyfriend, I do not like much of anything in this entire series. Why did I read three of them?? you might ask. Well, there was a time span of about a year in between and each time I tricked myself into believing that they weren't as bad as my mind was telling me they were. THEY WERE! Trust me if you want a fun quick read pick up something different!
However, I do have a fondness for her handyman..he is one of the only characters that I DO like, haha.

I am so glad I was recommended this series. I really liked the character of Abby Cooper, she is smart, funny, sassy and sarcastic!!! It was a nice change up to a mystery, to have the psychic intuitive be the main character. And after reading up on the author's website, it was interetsing to find out that is exactly what Victoria Laurie is too!! I think it gives better insight to her and her abilities. I got the whole John Edward feel from her (for those that are familiar with him and his show). I will definitely continue with this series, can't wait to find out more about Abby and Dutch!!!!
I first picked up this book at a mystery book store in Westwood. I devoured it in a day and immediately went out and bought the rest of the series. I love this series, and I had gotten the latest book for my birthday this year. I decided to re-read the series since it had been a while. It’s one of my favorites.
This is a fun, light story. Abby is a great character, and I love her personality. The mystery is good and it keeps you guessing. I liked that Abby is able to use her psychic abilities to help catch the killer. I love the romantic tension between her and Dutch, the police detective. I really wanted them to get together throughout the whole book.
Victoria Laurie’s writing style makes for a fun, fast read. She does a good job of balancing the tense scenes with humor. Her characters are all lively and likeable. As I said, this is one of my favorite series because it makes for a good fun, fast read, and it’s good at making me laugh as well as keeping me on the edge of my seat.

A fluff of chick lit containing light mystery with humorous dialog between main characters. The story moves right along and will keep you turning the pages. It has humor, romance, murders and cops. I really wanted to give this book 5 stars however about 1/2 way through I figured it out. Slight disappointment when I like a mystery to keep me guessing. Also after reading Sofie Metropolis by Tori Carrington & One for the Money by Stephenie Plums, Abby Cooper seems a little too familiar.
This was actually pretty cute. I really like the main character and the mystery solving!
Book #25 read in 2007
I found this book to be a quick, enjoyable read. The psychic protagonist, Abby, was interesting and the whole psychic realm is fascinating to me. I enjoyed all of the supporting characters as well and I look forward to reading more in the series.

I found myself as taken in with the story line and characters as I did with the mystic powers of "Abby". I will read others in the series in future.
