A perfect no brainer mystery for the summer.... I want to read the whole series now!
Oh how I loved this book! It is actually the book that started me back into reading again. As a kid I would read nonstop. Seriously I mean, there was never a moment where I did not have a book in my hand. But then when I hit high school and college my intense reading for pleasure faded. This book recaptured my love. And I haven't stopped reading since. Now, don't get me wrong, this book is not by any means a classic or anything. But I fell in love with the characters, I loved the concept of Abby Cooper being psychic. I loved everything about the book. And eagerly went out and read the rest of the series, and even more eagerly await the release of each new book! :) Cannot wait to see what situations Abby gets herself into! Very excited to read all things Victoria Laurie :)

Abandoned & Burned!
One star is too high a rating for this irritatingly gag me until my eyes water and I'm dry heaving.
Abby is so unrealistic. No one is that perpetually perky toody-good-shoes. She's like some clone of June Cleaver from "Leave it to Beaver" meets a psychic on pharmacuticals or who did way too many drugs in her hippy days. I had to stop when Abby went on her date. It was unbearable.
I want a refund!

I liked this book, to a point. The protagonist is a quirky clairvoyant who can see peoples futures and I have always enjoyed that kind of psychic touch in a novel.
I would have given it a higher rating if it wasn’t for the usual fattist tropes, like her referring to a large woman as round as she is tall, resembling the greedy girl who turned into a blueberry inWilly Wonka. Referring to fat people as waddling away from her. I can sense the fat phobia from 10,000,000,000 miles away, and it quite a turn off.

I’m surprised I liked this book as much as I did! Picked it up at a used bookstore looking for a fun romance and this book was definitely fun to read. I was thrilled to learn it’s a series and can’t wait to read more!

The decisions the heroine makes in this book often drove me crazy. Despite this, I did enjoy reading it. Not sure I would classify it as a mystery though. I don't think we ever actually met the murderer until the very end.
