Highly enjoyable, if off-putting in parts for excusing problematic workplace behavior and an inappropriate handling of mental illness. While I don't think this quite stacks up to his heights (being maybe the only good travel show host?), it has the feel of the early work of a particularly raucous punk band: cruder, coarser, and less mature than their later work, but brimming with promise.
Also would HIGHLY recommend the audiobook. Seeing as this recording appears to predate his TV work, I'm left to believe he was simply preternaturally gifted at reading his own writing.
