if i had read it during the year it was released, maybe i’ll loved it and i’ll be obsessed. but reading it at this time and age. idk how to feel. it’s just blech. wth is that storyline?! their love is purely based on sex and nothing else. i didn’t even read every line. i just skip to the conversations and the sex part. maybe i’m just experiencing ovulation that’s why i made it to the last page

I made a Goodreads account just so I could comment on this book.
I was told it was the "better version" of Shades of Grey. It is not. If the dubious consent and shady "bdsm" in Shades of Grey bothered you (as they did me) this isn't for you either. The female lead is coerced into sex several times in this book and the fact that she always gives in after a while and then enjoys it doesn't make the whole situation any better. I found myself pretty disgusted by some of those scenes. Add emotion manipulation (on both sides), extreme jealousy, a more than overused trope and way to many uses of the word "cunt" and you got yourself this masterpiece.

Small plus points for interesting side characters and some pretty good sexscenes (which, let's admit it, is why we read the book).
This book could have been great. The set up is overused, yes, but it works. The characters are flawed and they work through it. But unfortunately the book glorifies a pretty unhealthy relationship and an even unhealthier sex life.

Oh my goodness.. a great, hot, steamy, read! I enjoyed this book so much. It's probably my favorite one of the series. I don't wish to inlcude spoilers, but if you're a fan of Christian Grey, I can tell you, he's got NOTHING on Gideon Cross.

I liked this. A lot. More than 50 Shades. It's definitely a read again, very soon.

Omg. Wow. Ok so I absolutely loved Fifty Shades (up until the last book, which was straight up terrible) but this! This was sooo much better! I could not put it down even for a second. It's a classier version of Fifty, with a lot more emotion, and detail. Was so good i preordered the second one, only four chapters in. Definately recommend to any who want to enjoy a nice romantic erotic novel.
