if you liked the movie “The VVitch” you’ll enjoy this book. it’s dark and very freudian but if you’re looking for something unique and ooky, it’s solid.

Really good and very disturbing. At first I felt very lost in some parts of the book but it ended neatly and gave me a reason to re-read it and think about it even more! The characters were so good and consistent. It was a strange experience reading it but a recommended one. Look at the trigger warnings before reading!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not gonna lie, this was a very hard read for its grotesque nature— but it was incredibly worth it. I was taken aback by how graphic and disturbing this novel was, however, I found it to be very compelling and thought the story was well-crafted. I’ve never read anything quite like this before, and only Ottessa could make me enjoy something so gross and dark.

I liked My Year Of Rest and Relaxation by Otessa Moshfegh and was really looking forward to reading this book.
This is nothing like My Year Of Rest an Relaxation.
Lapvona is funny, dark and twisted. I could rarely predict what would happen next, which made me want to keep reading.
All in all, a fun read.

This book was hard to read at some points. The beautiful language of The author was juxtaposed by the horrors of living through famine in futile servitude to an absurd lord. There are all sorts of trigger warning to give for this book, but I still kind of enjoyed it. The whole thing felt like watching a car crash over the course of 300 pages. I cringed and Icked and laughed and gagged. The story was not my favorite, but the writing was immaculate and that made it worth the read at least
