I was in two minds about whether I was liking this book the entire way through it. I’m a fan of criminal minds, csi, law and order, so I’m no stranger to police procedural plots and was looking forward to seeing things from the serial killer’s perspective along side a reporter as he tried to clear his name.
The beginning of the book is slow moving despite the murder. The dual POV was off putting but did eventually grow on me however the descriptions of women, even from the female reporter, smacked of “she breasted boobily” type description which could have worked for the serial killer, but not when both characters were written very similarly. This book had an interesting draw with the premise of a serial killer trying to clear his name but it didn’t sit for very long with it, sending the plot off on the ‘final investigation’ without really tying it back into the main reason.
The ending was aiming for a shock factor and it felt so lacklustre it ruined the enjoyment that the last third of the book managed to generate for me.

The characters were shaping up to be interesting for the story, but the writing style was just not for me
The writing was poor and some choices in the writing style I just did not like . They story was hard to follow at times and I felt confused more than not.
