Ian Gallagher has a bit of a playboy reputation. But he is a hard worker too. So he plays as hard as he works, lol… But that just changed when his best friend Henry’s sister Ellie comes to New York to work And then on top of it he promises to watch over her while she is there. So when he meets up with Ellie he cant believe his attraction to this women. But a promise is a promise… Right…
Ellie Cavanaugh graduated culinary school and now she is temporarily working as a pastry chef. When she arrives in New York her brother’s best friend, Ian picks her up and helps her get settled. She has been warned not get involved with Ian, but how can she walk away from this attraction that she feels for him. And man is he HOT… But she promised her brother she would not get involved with his friend. But then again he doesn’t need to know, right…
I loved how Ian is portrayed as a ‘player’, but he was just totally infatuated with Ellie and when he realized he has feelings for her totally committed. Ellie knew what she wanted from her life. She had goals and I loved how she stuck to them. Both of these characters were great, but together they just flowed and made a perfect couple

I have yet to read a mediocre Layla Hagen book. Her books have so much emotion and are genuinely a sweet love story. A brother’s best friend romance between Ian and Ellie. Ian and Henry became friends in college when Ellie was just a kid but Ellie is all grown up now and Ian has been trying his best not to notice.
When Ellie moves to New York for a culinary program Ian is there to help her get settled into the new city. Of course Henry left him with one rule, not to touch his sister. Can Ian control himself and listen to his best friend even though all he wants to do is touch her? They eventually give in to their attraction and intense chemistry and decide to enjoy each other for their rest of Ellie’s time in NY. Together they were a perfect fit for each other and their chemistry was on fire.
Ellie seemed to fit into Ian’s world and with his family and they both truly wanted the best for each other and pushed each other to be their best self. I loved how possessive and worried Ian was over Ellie, it was enough to be sexy but not too much to be annoying. Ian was also the only person to really see the real Ellie and what she really went through in her childhood and how her parents divorce affected her.
“I was happy, the way you took care of me, I’m not used to it.”
If you are looking for a sweet but steamy brother’s best friend this is the perfect book for you!

Layla Hagen had me at hello. I fell super hard for Ian. He's the book boyfriend you never saw coming, but find hard to resist. Because You're Mine is a bittersweet love song that will leave your heart swooning and your world a little brighter for taking a chance on a heartbreaker and his surprisingly perfect match.
More swoony charm from Layla Hagen and the delightful Gallagher series- shaping up to be my favorite series from this feel-good writer. Romantic, sweet- all the butterflies.
Oh Ian. Once a playboy and consummate bachelor, he’s immediately smitten with his best friends’ sister, Ellie- new to the big city to pursue her dream job. Even though he’s supposed to keep an eye on her for his buddy- even though she’s off limits. But their connection and chemistry can’t be ignored.
These two are just adorable. Layla always writes such sweet and charming character chemistry, and these two are one of my favs yet. Ian is just dreamy- big heart, protective, a kind soul. He’s also been stoic, focused and hardworking, but Ellie knocks him over. I just love how he romanced her- SWOON. And Ellie is so relatable- focused, sincere, and open. Watching them fall for each other was captivating.
I always leave a Layla story with a full heart- can’t wait for more, even if it might be the last of these two amazing families. Feel good, contemporary romance at its finest!

Ian Gallagher and Ellie Cavanaugh are so cute together in Layla Hagen’s newest release Because You Are Mine. Ellie is the little sister of Ian’s best friend from college, Henry Cavanaugh. I totally love how Ian changes from confirmed bachelor to a man who can’t live without his girl. I love the writing style, fun and easy banter that is a Layla Hagen story. A beach read at its finest. If you like family series where they totally love and support each other along with extended family then you will enjoy this story. Because You Are Mine is written as a stand alone but will be enjoyed a bit more if read in order. Loved it! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. *****
Because You’re Mine is the third book in The Gallaghers series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but once you read one book you will want to read them all. The author has a way of spinning words and writing beautiful stories. She draws you in and makes you part of the warm-hearted Gallagher family. We met Ian in the earlier books where he was devoted to his bachelor ways, so I was so excited to read his story. I could not wait for him to find the woman that would capture his heart.
Ian Gallagher did not commit to relationships and his best friend Henry knew that, so he warned Ian away from Ellie, his sister. She was moving to New York for six months to do a rotation at a restaurant and Henry asked Ian to look out for her. Ian knew she was off-limits, but he was drawn to Ellie. He was bewildered by his feelings and how she made his bad days feel better.
Ellie loved her job as a chef and had plans of opening her own restaurant. Rotating to different restaurant locations was perfect for her because she wanted all the experience she could get. Although after moving to New York and spending time with Ian she was not looking forward to moving like she normally did. When she was offered a job in New York, she must decide if she wants to stay or continue with her rotations.
This was another amazing story by Layla Hagen. I loved the Gallagher family, and I will miss them but I look forward to seeing them again in future books.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Watching his siblings all fall in love has left Ian as the odd man out, but being the proverbial bachelor is not something that he is ever worried about, more like hw loves to play the field. That is until he helps out his best friend's little sister. Ellie has moved to NY with her future all mapped out, with six month rotations at different restaurants, the up and coming chef cannot wait to get all the experience she can. But fate has brought the two together and sparks are what the two need to deal with. Can Ian actually be ready to throw in the towel and find his HEA? And will Ellie change her future plans? With simply adorable characters and a storyline filled with honest emotions and laughable interactions this was a great story. No matter which family Layla Hagen has in her sights, the reader will always have an entertaining and enjoyable read.
Layla always manages to make me smile with her books and this one was no exception.
Ellie and Ian were a beautiful pair.
Their story was sweet, romantic, and steamy.
I hadn't expected him to be so tender, so... gentle and loving.
He was definitely more than I expected.
Ellie - while a little shy to begin with - was such a beautiful soul.
She gave me a few surprises along the way, that's for sure.
I'm a little sad that this series is over.
This tribe (even more so now) has kept me smiling, swooning, and given me so many warm fuzzies, that I now feel like part of the family.
