Picking up somewhat after Running With Scissors left off, this book takes the reader along for Burrough's intervention, rehab, post-rehab struggle to maintain sobriety, and falling off the wagon during a difficult time in his life. I felt very sympathetic to his struggle and cheered for him when he managed to avoid relapses. Some of the therapy tactics used do sound corny when he first describes them, but over time the reader can believe that Burroughs really believes in them. Unbelievable and raw look at alcoholism. I thought about it for many weeks after I was finished with the book.
Listened on audiobook. Largely fine. Author was charming but not lol funny. Don't think I ever came close to crying.
