Beautiful, sweet, and well done. I read this book after having already starting the "Out of Uniform" series, so I read it as if it was already in that (outstanding) series, rather than the end of the Gaymer. Not surprising to me I loved this one, because I love everything Annabeth Albert writes.

Themes from all of Alberts books that are true of this book
1. 2 guys working on their own shit
2. 2 guys not quite thinking they are deserving of love
3. 2 guys coming to realize that they are too in love to ignore their feelings (sorry friends, this is NOT just a hookup)

re: Connection Error, I was just so impressed by how much effort she put into describing the Veteran experience as one of the MCs goes through grueling physical therapy and the other MC struggles with ADHD. Gay, military, geeks, physical and mental ability diversity - Annabeth deftly weaves them all together.

I have nothing negative to say. This was just an all around really great time.

This had all the feels. This couple has such great chemistry and became my new current book boyfriends. I love Albert's writing and this was another great escape. My only regret is that there are no more #gaymer books available.

Rounded up to 5 stars because geeky nerd + brawny navy SEAL + Labrador puppy = YES!!!

My favorite book in the series remains the first one but this came pretty close!

Despite the instant attraction, it wasn't insta-love. Quite the opposite actually. Josiah's and Ryan's relationship was a slow and steady progress from friendship to love. The issues they both had to work through felt real and realistic and I liked that they weren't easily overcome.

Still, the ending felt a little abrupt. Because both MCs have been apart for most of the story, mostly communicating via email and texts, I would have liked to see more of them being really together in day-to-day life - although the kinda epilogue in the last chapter gave a small glimpse of that.

My favorite Annabeth Albert book to date. I really liked the story, but her writing style is still not my cup of tea. I found myself skimming sex scenes and gritting my teeth at overly thematic metaphors just a little too often, as seems to be the case with every book I read by this author. However, the characters and plot were strong enough to make up for it. I thought both Ryan and Josiah had really strong narrative arcs, with convincing but not overly drawn out conflict that kept them from getting to their happy-ever-after right away.

I thought this was a sweet story. I enjoyed the development of the characters and the "journey" you feel like you feel like you go on with them.
