The book was very character driven and lacked a lot of plot. Felt like I was reading a nothing sandwich

At this point, I think Kiley Reid is an auto buy for me🙌🏾. I love her satire, I love her commentary on race, ethics, money, and power dynamics. Especially money and how it drives us to make the choices that we do. And I love any story that’s backdrop is set in academia (a great playground for the previously stated themes to develop and evolve). Such a Fun Age will always be my favorite, but Come and Get It is not far behind it! I saw people comment about how there wasn’t really a plot, but Reid’s books aren’t so plot-driven as they are character-driven. To me, her characters are well developed enough to where the plot doesn’t mean so much to me. I’m more focused on the different scenes of social commentary and Reid is a master of that for sure. P.S. Agatha was so wild to be dating Millie…a professor and college student?? Girl you knew that WAS gonna be a clown show!! The crash out between her and Robin, over that, was valid.
