I'm dying, because of you. Because of you, Rainbow Rowell. :'(
This book is ridiculously light but surprisingly good. I mean it. The way Rowell writes is beautiful and natural. She didn't complicate her words with all kinds of mushy poetry, just simple lines yet the effect is, oh my goodness, huge.
Eleanor's different. She's complicated. She just want to be invisible but she can't. Park's is different. He's complicated. All he want to do is stay away from Eleanor but apparently fates brought them together.
I feel related with Eleanor. At some point I feel like she's way too closed up and I'm not like that. But her feelings, I've been there once and it's good to see that I'm not the only one. Thank you for that, Rainbow Rowell.
I loved Park despite his 'almost' shallow characters. There are some moments when I didn't really liked him but eventually he wins me. Thank god this book written in two point of views, I'm happy to read inside of Park's head.
Congratulations, Rowell. You got yourself a top place. ;)

I liked the story and the romance, but the writing style was not my jam. I feel like Rowell was trying to be emotional and grounded and poetic, but to me it was just choppy and weird.
I just finished rereading this book, and I have to say that that made all the difference. I am not a child of the 80's, so I didn't get many of the references(which probably would have made it more enjoyable). I should also mention that the last time I read this, I was jetlagged and not all that awake. This time, however, the book made a lot more sense(:), and I got to know Eleanor and Park as beautiful, well-rounded, sensible characters. Makes me think I branch out more with the whole rereading thing(currently, it's Harry Potter all the time).
