If dark romance is your thing, then this is your book. There’s something about a dangerous man falling in love that makes me happy. Zuko and Alaska were great characters alone and even better together.

Have you ever read the dedication page and was instantly like this book is going to be it for me? Because that’s exactly how I felt!
Zuko is a hunter (killer) and he’s good at it. Since he was a kid it’s all he’s known and he enjoys the kill. Him and his brothers have made a name for themselves by doing this.
Alaska has had a rough childhood growing up in foster homes. She works 2 jobs just so she can live the luxury life to spoil herself. At one job she works for a sex phone company and calls herself Sage. And at the cowboy bar she works on the weekends she uses her real name. So when her number one caller comes into the bar she instantly recognizes his voice and connects the two dots. Zuko on the other hand doesn’t realize Alaska is Sage.
Zuko and Alaska’s story is intense. Alaska is a badass FMC that doesn’t put up with Zuko and his antics. She knows what she wants but sometimes your mind doesn’t always agree with your body. Zuko is that MMC that screams red flags but you just can’t stay away from! I loved every second of this book and couldn’t put it down. I found myself reading every chance I could get. I was all for the feisty, angsty, sexy dynamic of these characters. This was my first book T.L. Smith and I can honestly say I’ll be reading more! Thank you T.L. Smith for an ARC copy of this fantastic novel!!

I started reading this as an intro to dark romance. For me, I'm already desensitized to that kind of stuff so it wasn't as dark as I like, but it's amazing for beginners who may want to ease in. I love the couple and the dynamic between them. I find them incredibly entertaining and fascinating. I'd recommend this to someone who may want to get into dark romance.
