I'm a sucker for stalker romance, and when I saw S. M. Shade was releasing one, I knew I had to read it! I've only read one other book from her, and it was cowritten by C. M. Owens. Let's just say, it made a huge impression on me! If you want to laugh your ass off, go grab Worth It right now. You won't be disappointed!

Moving on!

Darcy's entire family was murdered in their home when she was just a child, and she's the only one the killer left standing. Given her past, when she discovers a stranger watching her, I expect her to freak the fuck out, but that's not what happens. Darcy likes being watched. She hopes her stalker will confront her. It was about this time that I began to question Darcy's common sense and overall intelligence level.  However, I'm a crazy bitch too, so naturally, I wanted her to get with the stalker! It made it easier for me to suspend my disbelief, and I think anyone reading this type of book has to be able to do that.

The Dark of You is steamy, suspenseful, captivating, and twisty. The author's writing style makes it extremely easy to fall into the story. The characters were interesting, and the story was thrilling. The downside for me was I guessed something very early on, and the whole time after I read with my suspicion in mind. It took me somewhat out of the story once I got the idea in my head, so it wasn't as impactful and shocking as it should have been. I know it was for a lot of people though, and I totally see why.

I honestly don't think it's the author fault I figured it out. I think it's mainly do to other books I've read in the past. Had I read this first, I think things would have turned out differently.

If you're a fan of dark, stalker romance, this one's for you!

My first book from SM Shade and will not be the last. Not at all what I expected. The twist in the end had my head all messed up! I thought I had it figured out but nope! Not at all what expected but everything I needed!

so a lot of you said they didnt predict the actual outcome, but i saw it coming and still I will be locking myself in my room to cry for a bit. Both out of sheer happiness and absolute devistation.

About 90% in I wanted to instantly hate this book because I knew kinda where it was headed.

I wanted to take stars off because the ending just isn't sitting right with me.

Book hangover and then some, but then I realized that is what makes it such an amazing story.

Reeve is every bit of angsty, consuming, alpha, and mysterious that I love in my book boyfriends.

And Darcy is everything a strong female lead needs to be.

S.M. Shade is an amazing versatile writer. This is my 2nd book by her, the first was a comedy!!!

This book from the very start had me thinking all crazy scenarios. The twist I did kinda see coming but wasn't sure if I'd be wrong. I did enjoy this book to an extent but the twist for me was anticlimatic and I was a little disappointed.

LOVED this departure for the norm from one of my favorite rom-com writers! Ms. Shade definitely shows her range here, I was all over the place on this one, she kept me on the edge of my seat. There's not alot I can say that won't ruin in so I won't, just do it, follow my lead and go in blind you will love every second. Just trust her to give you chills, multiple times throughout, its a twisty turny thrill ride and its close to the top of my 'favorite of the year' list!

not trying to be rude, but i don’t really think this is a romance…? it dragged quite a bit once i got to the 50% mark, and i only kept reading because i needed to know how it ends. and then i hated the ending soooooooo much! marking this review as spoilery so i can say that i wouldn’t have read this if i knew that it is sort of similar to midnight lily by mia sheridan, another book i really disliked. :’( if you’ve read that, you know what i mean. i just wanted to read an actual stalker romance lmao!

i guess this book kind of had an HEA, in a sick and twisted sort of way…
