I really enjoyed this book. The banter, the tension, the slow burn is so good. Knox and Avery both have big hearts, are highly competitive athletes and try hard not to fall for each other. This story made my heart feel full.

He's not a relationship kind of guy and she's not a no strings attached kind of girl.
I'll start out by saying if you're not a fan of covers that are kind of cartoonish like this book does have, don't let that deter you from reading this. While it has cute and sweet moments, Knox is a hot guy with some pretty interesting ideas when it comes to hooking up. Trust me!
Knox a pro motocross racer while also taking care of his brother. There are multiple Holland brothers but Knox took on the role of "parent" for their youngest brother when their mother passed away and their father kept up the absent/unreliable parent persona. Knox is thrown off his team and left to find another one due to his temper and inability to work as a teammate. He shows up at a friend's competition for more BMX freestyle type stuff. Knox isn't the type to do tricks in the air on his bike but since he's not currently racing and could use the distraction, he decides to help his friend out by travelling to the competitions and helping with loading/unloading the bikes and such. He's also introduced to Avery, someone that helped his friend work on his technique on the bike and also best friends with his girlfriend. Knox is intrigued by her so when it's suggested to him to train a bit with Avery, who he discovers is a gymnast that has also won an Olympic medal in the past, he decides to give it a shot.
I absolutely loved the story of these two. Avery and her struggles with an injury that resulted in her having to back off with her gymnastics while it healed was well written. She was hesitant to jump back into all her routines because she didn't want to get hurt again. She's struggling with this all while Knox is working his way into her life. Knox is trying to show his former management that he is a team player all while still providing for his youngest brother. Him having to deal with their father showing back, as well as figure his own life out, was tough.
I read this last year and listened to the audiobook this year. Both times were just as great as the other. I really do love the trope of him not wanting to have a steady girlfriend and her not wanting a fling. Watching them both struggle with this, and finally committing to each other is always a slam dunk for me.
I have loved every book I've read by Rebecca Jenshak and this one was no exception. Knox and Avery were a fantastic pairing. The banter was fun and flirty. There was just enough spice to keep it interesting and that bike scene in the garage was straight fire. I loved that it was 2 sports you don't get to read about often. Next is Brogan. I can't wait!!
