I will say these ones did a better job portraying their limits & had much more realistic encounters with a society that likes the norm & shuns those that forgo conventionality.
I will say the story started off slow. Everyone had so many ailments & forgotten vital information that i really was hoping for them all the sort themselves out so we could focus on the mystery. Seems at times that Agnez was the only one really interested in solving the mystery & either they just wanted to watch her or she was forcing them to continue.
Poor Agnez, her childhood really had so much trauma, it's a wonder she didn't fall apart sooner. I'm glad she got her confidence back. & I like her housemates, hopefully future books explore them more fully as well.

This was such an enjoyable and uplifting read. I really grew to love the characters and the community they created for themselves. I figured out part of the twist about 60% of the way through but I still enjoyed the writing and the other parts of the story. Highly recommend!
I bought this book in a cute East Nashville book shop in hopes of finding a good book for my flight to London and train rides during the trip. I spent soooOooo long overthinking my decision and finally just grabbed this book after seeing that it’s great for fans of Thursday Murder Club. I went in with low expectations incase it was too similar/felt like a copy cat. You guys, I love this book! It’s definitely a great rec if you enjoyed Thursday Murder Club or if you only kinda enjoyed those but wanted it to be a little darker/less silly at times.
Don’t get me wrong, this book is a hoot! Lots of funny. But also a little darker and just different in its own right. It is originally written in German but it is set in England and was the perfect book to enjoy on my vacation!

The depiction of aging/dementia was rough and I think hurt the story since apparently almost all the main characters are edging into Alzheimer’s or dementia. I found how often characters lost the plot right when the book took a character jump annoying. It was a decent mystery.
