Book was delightful but unfortunately included some unnecessary fat shaming of a child. I thought we were all past that.
Minor: Fatphobia
For fans of Thursday Murder club, you'll like this. I love an aging narrator that tries to solve mysteries, and this has that. It also has a lot of heart and camaraderie. It made me laugh out loud several times. I will definitely be reading the sequel.

Some days, I thought this was a 4.5. Such fun, bonkers characters and situations. Other days it was more of a 2, too slow. It nets out at a 3.5.

I wanted to love this, but there were just too many characters for me to fall in love with any of them. Who is Bernadette besides someone who befriended a smoker in a wig? Who is Winston besides a guy who likes chocolate? If the whole book had been like the section with Agnes and the grandson sleuthing, I would have loved it. But it just fell flat.
