This was a lot of fun, and I would absolutely read more mysteries featuring this crew. I loved Hettie, and appreciated the afterword about tortoises (and animals in general) that the author included.

I liked this okay until verisimilitude went straight out the window with

a forgotten dead sister imagined as still alive?? and a realization that she was never really alive?? some serious bbc sherlock shit right there.

I'm sorry this was really bad. The old people don't feel like old people and the child character does not seem his age whatsoever
