I’m in a “elderly detectives” phase- maybe because I’m starting a new decade as a sexagenarian? So, I wanted to enjoy this book as I’m a huge Thursday Murder Club fan. However, at times I felt just as confused as some of the characters. I appreciated how the author included moments of forgetfulness, aches and pains, the desire to avoid a care home, etc to be true to the age of the characters, but it got to be a bit much for me. Hettie the tortoise was an added fun character and the love/annoy relationship between Nathan and the housemates was sweet, and there were a couple of laughable moments, just not an overall good choice for me.

3.75 - I've read several senior murder mysteries lately and was relatively unimpressed by this one at the beginning. However, I'm glad I stuck with it as it had many more twists and turns than I anticipated.
