A very elderly group of roommates in a houseshare become caught up in a series of murders. Is one of them a murderer? If not, who in their sleepy little town is going around gruesomely murdering pensioners left and right? And can Agnes (one of the roommates) figure out what happened before the murderer turns their eyes on her?
I wanted to like this book a lot. It ended up feeling a bit too quirky and confused for me personally, and a lot of it was unfortunately a bit hard going. It tried very hard, though, and others might find the eclectic eccentricity more engrossing than I did.

Overall, I enjoyed this! I felt confused about how the characters knew each other, as well as their backgrounds. Like, it seemed like the book thought I should know? 🤷♀️😅 But the mystery was interesting and although I guessed some of it, it kept me on my toes! Not quite as funny as I imagined (based on my enjoyment of the Thursday Murder Club books), but still good!

I greatly enjoyed this mystery and was touched by the elderly characters, especially as I saw much of my own aging relatives in them. The portrayal of them as they struggled with their infirmities and often unreliable memories was unflinching and real.
