I took my time reading it, although it was a short book, because it was the closest a book has ever come to knowing me. I thought "The Idiot" was the most like me a character had ever been, and then I met Lori. She asks all the questions I think and she does the hard things (that I have yet to do) and I feel so inspired to live. Almost too personal of a book to recommend to others, but I think my best friend (who's falling in love as I write) might enjoy it and for her I shall risk bearing my soul

I finished this last night at like 2am in an exhausted but unable to sleep stupor and I think that was a surprisingly optimal circumstance  šŸ‘šŸ¼Lispector did have an entirely unique style of writing, I can fully say I’ve never read anything like her. This is one I know I’ll have to revisit in the future to be able to fully grasp, but overall, the hour of the star resonated more with me

I have mixed feelings about this book. I’m not sure it resonated with me as deeply as others. It has a very poetic rhythm, but some of the ideas felt more relevant or made more sense than others. Overall, it was written in a very interesting way that I haven’t seen before, but I’m not sure I’d recommend it to someone else.

Strikes me as the type of book people like to pretend they understood to look intelligent.

Changed all the cells inside of me forever. Have never read something about love so raw and so scathing and so human
