The story itself was good. I'm not comfortable with the weird sexual stuff that just seems to intrude in an unnecessary fashion but can see how the author might want to have it as part of the story. Just skipped over it.

I read this on Kindle Unlimited. There were a couple things about the writing I wasn’t a fan of, like the weird internal monologuing Finley did in her mind described in the beginning. Also, I know it’s fantasy but what time period does this take place, it feels so mixed, there’s very basic old sounding cloth clothes but then there’s also jeans? With belt loops? And modern day sayings and phrases. It kind of took you out of the story immersion.

This retelling of Beauty and the Beast was funny and more steamy than I expected! What a pleasant surprise! I loved the characters, the writing was good, the world interesting, and I'm excited to continue on with the series.

“Hold onto your dicks folks things are about to get hairy”. I cannot believe how high of a rating this has. It was fun to read only because it was so terrible.

“When others look at you, they might see your surface beauty. I wanted you to know that when I look at you, I see the beauty of your soul, and I am in rapture.“ ♥️

Finley’s village has been sick with a curse and the only way she can help the sick is by collecting the leaves 🍃 of a healing plant, which grows in the Forbidden Wood protected by a terrifying beast.

One day she is captured by the beast for stealing and taken to a castle. 🏰…

This is a dark, Beauty & the Beast inspired, twisted fairytale. It is spicy and the 🔥 tension between the characters is felt all the time. The crazy sexuälized environment that surround these characters is wild. Go into this blind if you like surprises! 🤣

K.F. Breene’s, Ruin of Roses is a fantastical, dark, sexy, adventurous, erotic retelling of Beauty and the Beast.

In a cursed, fallen Kingdom infested and controlled by demons, we follow our heroine: Finley. Finley is no damsel in distress and needs no saving. She is fearless, resilient and strong and would do anything to protect her family.

The curse that has fallen over the Kingdom is a sickness that slowly drains the lives of the people in the village but also prevents and suppresses the people of the village to shapeshift and feel their animal.

Finley finds and harvests’ a medicinal plant that grows throughout the Kingdom called everlass, and curates an elixir to prolong the lives of the people of her village. She is caught taking the leaves of the everlass from the Forbidden Wood that is guarded by The Beast and taken prisoner in his castle.

Things tend to get heated up between The Beast and Finley as they spend more and more time together and truths are brought to light about who The Beast is and how the curse happened.

I enjoyed the hell out of this book. I couldn’t help but to picture this as a Beauty and the Beast/The Great (a show on HULU) collaboration. You get the humor and snarky, sexy banter (like in The Great) and debauchery throughout the story along with a shapeshifting/demon twist on the tale of Beauty and the Beast.
