I could see how people may compare this to Gone Girl when in reality, The Sister is so much better. Definitely something I would reread to try to pick up on clues I could not see before.
The cover promises a ‘brilliant twist you won’t see coming’...but I’m still waiting for it, to be honest.
It was...fine.

A bit predictable, but an absorbing read nonetheless. Perfect for a lazy bank holiday weekend!

Great book...I kind of guessed the twist but I liked the story. Well written and characters you remember. 8/10
Wow is all I can say about this book. I had no idea what this book was about when I jumped into it and I’m glad I didn’t. The book kept me guessing all the way to its climax (which I somehow didn’t even guess!!) Grace (the MC) was an extremely relatable and likeable character. I loved the way this was written jumping from Now to the past and back again. It allowed you to immerse yourselves in the characters and their own backstory. Questions came to my mind throughout and I am pleased that these were all answered before the book finished. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a psychological thriller. I have already purchased my next Louise Jensen book
So…the mystery wasn’t as mysterious as the reader is originally led to believe. The story itself is pretty good, but so much suspense is built up, that you expect an explosive secret. The secret itself is bad, but not bad enough to cause all of the things that happen. Even the explanations are too complicated, and often have nothing to do with the rest of the story. As I said, the story itself was good, but I wouldn’t say that this was a mystery/thriller. Some parts were too outrageous and some too simple. There wasn’t a good balance.
