adventurous emotional funny

I love Amor Towles. He tells these beautiful stories that you just settle into. Even with their slow pace, nothing is wasted. His characterization is flawless.

I do feel like I need to process the ending. I would have loved this as a book club title!

3.75? Kind of long

A very different tone from [b:A Gentleman in Moscow|34066798|A Gentleman in Moscow|Amor Towles|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1551480896l/34066798._SY75_.jpg|45743836], which is impressive in its own right - being able to write vastly different settings (Russia, Nebraska) and characters (Russian nobleman, juvenile delinquent) with such ease requires a very good writer.

Took a bit for me to get into it, and I did think there were too many characters with narratives at one point, but it all came together for me in the end.
