Sadly, this is my least favourite book by this author. I didn't feel any real connection to Everly or Isaac or in their relationship. The plot was a B-grade cop movie. I didn't understand the future chapters.
I wasn't surprised by the husband and the friend, nor the bad guy coming back. The action scenes were so bad.

Still beating is the best, and then I either get a 4-star or a 2-star from the rest lol

Traumatic heartfelt story about a rising married star Everly who’s in the modeling industry. Her husband is shot during a break in and she is taken locked in a small room by herself for 2 years she has occasional people to talk to but they don’t stay long until Nick/Isaac. He’s a former detective who is investigating his sisters disappearance when he is taken and becomes Everly’s new neighbor in their cells. They can’t see each other a white wall stands between them but they can talk. Everly spills the tea about her time in captivity, why she thinks she’s there and that maybe she came across his missing sister Sarah. This story is heartbreaking, scary and traumatic. I did enjoy it but thought some parts were a bit slow. I’m excited to hear it’s part of a series.

So good!

I knew this was gonna be a good story because Jennifer Hartmann never fails to pull all the emotions out of her readers. Chelley is. New to me author, who I want to read more of! I can't wait for the next two books in this world... Who could be the next hero? Hmmm so many choices.
