Wicked Appetite

Janet Evanovich

3.51 AVERAGE

I loved the characters of Lizzy and Diesel. I really enjoy the premise of the book (Unmentionables and SALIGA stones). It was quick, fun, easy read. Lizzy put up much less resistance to the idea of the stones, being an Unmentionable, and Diesel's presence in her life than what is realistic, but the book is overall so lighthearted it flowed well. Glo seemed a little over-the-top as a side character, and the other characters provide her with a lot more patience that I would, but she was entertaining nonetheless. I guess, as a Janet Evanovich fan, I saw the basic set up as very similar to the Stephanie Plum novels and therefore a bit unoriginal: heroine, kooky sidekick, crazy animals, hot love interest, and a more sensible co-worker all have to battle something crazy together, and the heroine is in the most danger and may even get kidnapped and/or hurt at some point. Nonetheless, or maybe because of that familiar structure, I still really liked the book. I am looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

second read and this time it was the audio version as I was driving cross country. at first I was not fond of the reader but she grew on me. this is my favorite of the 3 so far lizzie and diesel books. the latter 2 are terrible in terms of continuity and repeating scenes.

A book that makes me laugh this much I can be forgiving of the minor flaws. It was uproarious fun reading.

If you enjoyed Wicked Appetite and are anxiously awaiting the next installment I'd recommend reading [b:A Little Night Magic|11686611|A Little Night Magic|Lucy March|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1327946186s/11686611.jpg|16633029] by Lucy March. It was humorous, magical, light-hearted, and fun reading as well.

Now where is the next Unmentionables installment, please!?

Wow that was bad.

It started ok, but didn't get any better. The humor is juvenile. It's the kind of humor that's funny in small doses but highly overused in this book. I didn't connect with any of the characters. They all seemed to speak in the same sarcastic voice. No character dimension at all. The romance had no build up. I felt no chemistry besides the writer telling me there was chemistry. And if I heard the word cupcake one more time I was going to scream. Every other word in this book. This book can be a drinking game. When you hear cupcake you drink.

The pro was that I listened to it on audio book. The narrator is the same one who does Mercy Thompson and she's an awesome narrator.

Hunks! TWO Hunks! Big, dangerous, powerful, mysterious guys just SHOW UP and one starts dictating your entire life, eating all your food and sleeping in your bed without any consent! But like in a fun way. Gosh, it's like rape fantasy light!
I'd never read or really heard anything about Evanovich before this, only knew she was prolific and famous and acclaimed. No idea she was a romance writer, but am so glad there wasn't any sex in this book because cringe. That said, this isn't the worst or most embarrassingly corny thing ever so like don't take my word for it.
Also there's a monkey.

While this is not my favorite of the Evanovich books, it is still a series I see myself going back to in the future. Like the rest, it's witty, it hilarious, and the characters are awesome. Also this one has a slightly supernatural flare which is kind of fun. I've seen Diesel pop up periodically in the Plums, and he's one of my favorite characters, that didn't change with this book! He's still great! Not quite Morelli, but I'll take him! I also am a big fan of the Seven Deadly sins, I find them really interesting, so this was a really fun take on them. Not to mention seeing how Lizzy was effected by all of the relics was HILARIOUS.

ugh this is really good. idk if this is spoilers because this happens in like the first two chapters but just a little warning just in case. I didn't know it was going to be this good. ngl I kinda like wulf because even though he is the "bad guy" he is more respectful to her than compared to diesel. like the main character, lizzie, is just like what ever when diesel forces his way into her life and she believes totally what he says about her being unmentionable and all of the rules to it. she doesn't even check her a different source to see if he is telling the truth. I just dont trust deisle. and with a name like that who else could believe him. ok that was a lot of negative for a book that I like. I thought it was halarious and I love wulf and lizzie tbh. diesle is just hella sketchy.
