for all you stephanie plum lovers - this is the start of a new series with diesel in it. i haven't been a big fans of the books with diesel in it before, but since i liked this one, i think it may be because i didn't like him messing with stephanie's world!
this was a fun read - some real laugh out loud moments - reminded me in a way of what stephanie plum books used to be. i hope that she can bring some of the energy from this book back to the next stephanie book!

Fairly enjoyable despite some pretty big problems. It's like cotton candy...tasty but not filling and you won't remember it in an hour.
nice chemistry between the two mains (diesel and lizzy), anticipating the next book in this series
I listened to most of this when it first came out as an audio book, but then I got distracted, and since I have the sequel out from the library, I finally decided to finish it. I liked this book, but I think the effect was ruined by reading the last 50 pages a year or so later. I started from the beginning, and while parts of this were amusing the second time around, I was concentrating more on whether I had read it before or not, and I think it lost something.
Cute, quick read. Definitely set up for a series...will read them, as I'll want to know how the hint of romance between the 2 main characters grows. Clever premise, as well.
I don't think over-the-top goofy romance is my style. I tried to power through the audiobook anyway, but I ultimately couldn't get past the anti-fat commentary since there wasn't much else to redeem the book. Much of the book deals with the idea of "gluttony" and it contains a lot of negative commentary around food and weight.
Moderate: Fatphobia
I did NOT realize this was the beginning of a series, and I don't have the second one! I may or may not go crazy until I get it.
Trite, lazy, contrived, derivative of the Stephanie Plum series. Such a shame what's happened to someone who used to be one of my favourite writers.
My then 84 year old father actally recommended this book to me. He was loving it on audio book so I had to give it a try. I did print and I loved it. It was fun. It was interesting. Being from Massachusetts, I really enjoy the setting. I think (and please don't hate me) that I enjoy this more than I do Stephanie Plum.
