Is it a good book? Not really, but it's horribly entertaining. Yes, Lizzy is basically Stephaine, Diesel is Ranger, Glo is Lula, and Carl is....Carl. But who cares! I laughed so hard I snorted a couple of times. It's silly and predictable and it hit the spot.
It was a fun, entertaining book. I read it quickly in just a couple of sittings. Not high literature or anything, but an easy read that was thoroughly enjoyable.

Are you in need of a giggle? Well, then giggle on over here to Janet Evanovich’s ‘Lizzy and Diesel’ Series because these two books (Wicked Appetite + Wicked Business) are funny. I mean laugh-out-loud while riding the train with a bunch of strangers, not caring that people are staring and occasionally pointing at you, kind of funny.
Now, don’t be tricked – this book is in no way fine literature. When you crack the spine, you will find witches, witchcraft, supernatural beings, a one-eyed ninja cat, flying brooms, a monkey named Carl, an abundance of READ MORE

It did exactly what I needed it to do and I needed a fluffy easy book with a bit of humor after a 800 page fantasy. This book was short and enjoyable and I have no regrets!
Wickedly funny. Somehow I am not a fan of author's Plum series but I adore her Lizzie and Diesel and am a bit ticked that she writes so few of my favourite series. Every character and there are not too many of them is a gem and a delight up to and including the monkey.
Janet Evanovich has written so many books, but I have never taken the time to read anything she has written. I grabbed Wicked Appetite from the digital library a little while ago to get a change of pace from my normal reads. The audiobook was read by Lorelei King and was 10 hours, 51 minutes long.
The story was original. I liked the whole fantasy situation, the odd characters and the special "talents" that the characters had. It was fun and unique.
I really loved Lizzy and her outlook on life. She was witty, funny, kind-hearted and brave. I loved how she just picked up on everything, even though it was crazy.
Oh Diesel, you are some amazing man candy. I don't know how Lizzy can resist you, even though there are some consequences.
The cat, the monkey - best side characters ever!
The actual premise of the story was just so all over the place, there was no definite plot in the story and no real ending. This is a series, but I much rather have somewhat of a semblance of a plot and climax in each book. I definitely wasn't into the story enough to continue with the series.

More like 2.5 stars but I am a generous soul. There isn't much in the way of plot, world building, or even sense in some places, but it's not bad if you are looking for some mindless fun. I was listening to the audio book and fell asleep for 30 minutes and missed nothing if that's any indication of how intricate the plot is. I keep hearing that Lizzy is just like Evanovich's other main character Stephanie Plum. As I have not read any of the Stephanie Plum series that didnt bother me. Lizzy isn't the smartest main character but her reactions make sense even if her actions don't always do. Diesel is a little too laid back and a bit caddish for my tastes but not wholly unlikable. As for our antagonist Wulf, I'm waiting for his character turnabout when he inevitably falls in love with Lizzy.
