I've never read Evanovich before. I'm not really a mystery person, so, even though lots of people enjoy her Stephanie Plum series, I never bothered with it. This is the first book in a new series from her and I thought it sounded kind of interesting. I downloaded the audiobook and figured I'd give it a shot. It was not good. Just not. Everything was too convenient and really, really silly. I found the characters very annoying and simple. I don't mind reading books that don't require a mental workout to get through, but this was too silly even for me. I don't think I'll be picking up the second book.
This is so much like her Stephanie Plum series. It was a good quick read but not something I would rave to my friends about.
this book was so bad...so when I read the rest of them just ignore me
Light and relatively fluffy reading. Very similar formula to the Stephanie Plum books. I enjoyed the second one a little more than the first.
A cute, quick, fun read. Elizabeth is a phenomenal cupcake baker. She inherits a house from her aunt. It all seems to be going well until she meets Diesel. He needs her help to find some items that will lead them to the Stones- relics of the seven deadly sins. Diesel’s brother is also searching for the stones. Add a little supernatural and some comedic characters and you have a very enjoyable book.
In my quest to expand my reading, I decided to try this one. Ad I'm so glad I did! I really enjoyed it! It was well written, I enjoyed the magical twist, and the characters were awesome. Can't wait to read the next one.
Quick, silly, light. Exactly what I wanted and expected. Maybe not the best Evanovich book but still a good read in my opinion. Plus, I love Carl the monkey.
fun story about a girl with the unmentionable power to make perfect cupcakes and Diesel, introduced to the reader in the Stephanie Plum stories... I enjoyed his part much better in his own stories with Lizzie than I did with SP... definitely a fun read.
witty, fun and energetic. I can't wait to get my hands on book 2!
