I continually search for Bukowski at his best, but this definitely ain't it.

La inmensa mayoría de la gente estaba loca. Y los que no estaban locos estaban furiosos. Y los que no estaban locos ni furiosos eran idiotas.

I can see how the writing is excellent, deliberately blunt and crass, intentional in its misogynistic, anachronistic main character (while also making the only characters with any real power women, so....there's that), but I still couldn't help but find it unpleasant to read at times. Wanted to see what Bukowski was about and not sure I'm a fan. Willing to take recommendations if anyone has another of his novels to recommend though.

Shit ending, but I think Bukowski knew that as the book is dedicated to bad writing. The more I read his work, the more I become enamored with his writing style. His words run around in my head easily and he mixes real life with some bits of fiction.

What the fuck was this book???

Very nearly a stream of consciousness and full-on Bukowski!  What a wild ride, leaping all over the place with nonsensical twists.  Love it.

One of the strangest books I have ever rest in my life. “Dedicated to bad writing.” Sure is, buddy.
