Wow...this was. Terrible. I mean...Kate is just a terrible decision maker. And Henry, even worse! I get that she has a martyr-complex, and I don't mind, but they always end up backfiring on her, making the situation worse. I liked that Persephone pushed her to make a good decision and featuring all the girls that didn't pass Henry's test, was interesting.
Well....it was alright. The plot was just ridiculous and the characters, even more so. The council was absolutely ridiculous...especially Kate's treatment of Walter. Poor guy...I thought it was just sad. But James! I love that guy...funny, smart and still madly in love with Kate. "I was going to settle down with you, but you just had to go for my uncle!" He's great.
Her mother, is well, her mother and I really liked Philip's appearance in aiding Kate's departure to the island. Seriously guys, don't read it. It was a waste of time honestly. All you need to know is that Ava dies, Kate gives birth to a son named Milo, Calliope dies because Kate kills her and Cronus is stuck back into Tartarus (Kate is going visit him from now on, SEE HOW LONG THAT LASTS) and Rhea is the only reason they won. Yeah...DON'T READ IT

05/25/2019: After all this time it still hurts to read this. In a good way.
03/10/2018: I'm officially a big mushy pile of emotions. I'm done.

I have to say that this series has been above average as a whole. It has been enjoyable and very engaging and easy to read. I also really like the fact that in a world of immortals readers get to experience the passage of time from the first to the final book. In fact, The Goddess Inheirtance opens with Kate being held prisoner by evil Calliope and Titan Cronus. And she is about to give birth to Henry's baby. Due to their agreement, Henry doesn't even know that she is a captive. This all builds up into a story featuring the final war between between Cronus and the gods. And the baby hangs in the balance of two people who don't even know what love really is.
This was a fast read. Really fast. Almost too fast. I feel like the story could have been expanded on but I did appreciate the fact that the book was missing some of the internal and emotional drama found in earlier installments. The battle was over far too quickly at the books conclusion but I have to say I loved the idea Kate comes up with to get an upperhand in the conflict. It seemed to bring the series around full circle. But a new character was introduced just in time to play a big part in solving the war and I think that just felt pretty convienant. Also Henry didn't seem to be as annoyingly moody (and I like Henry, but really, he is moody!) as he has been previously. The fact that they didn't agonize over their love for each other was also a plus. There were a couple of surprise revelations that I felt seemed hurried and out of place. One big one could have been expanded into its own book had the author chosen to do so. I still adore James and thought their banter and affection for each other was even more endearing since he has come to peace with Kate's relationship with Henry.
Still this series was highly enjoyable and I am so glad I randomly picked up the first two books one day on a whim. The rest is history. If you enjoy paranormal YA stories this one is defintely worth your time. Its a decent conclusion and I am quite satisfied with it.

I wasn’t expecting to cry as much as I did in this book. There were so many emotional things that happen. I also know that a lot of my reaction to some of the circumstances could be because I have children.
Kate drove me bonkers in this final book. I just don’t understand why she refuses to ask for help. I mean, of course, try to take care of things for yourself. But if you can’t, you’ve got a great group of people behind you one hundred percent. Henry is definitely my fave as usual. He’s such a strong character, and doesn’t take things lightly. He tries to figure out the best decisions to make in order to make sure nobody is hurt, especially Kate.
This novel boils down to family. They should be behind you one hundred percent. Trust is also a big issue. Who should Kate trust, and why isn’t she trusting this person. Why is this person being so cruel. It’s a big game of who do you believe. Everyone seems to have their own agenda.
The Goddess Inheritance is fast paced. There is always some part of a plot that is being revealed. This was a great finale to a great trilogy. It pulls on the heart strings, and forces you to take a stand.

I really regret waiting so long to read this series. I love how the author wrote the gods, bringing them into the modern world and changing their names. Any other books I've read about gods, they're still mostly old fashioned and not up to date on the world.
I didn't like that Kate and Henry were separated most of the book, from each other and from their son. With couples in books, I prefer to see more of them together, working together to solve problems and spending quiet times together. This whole series didn't seem to have a lot of the loving, quiet moments some couples have in other books. I understand there was a lot going on, but I still need that relationship.
Kate stood up for herself and really took control, which is a good thing, even if she made more trouble than she solved sometimes.

I feel in love with this series from the very beginning and I'm sad to see it go but this was a really good book. It was full of drama but still answered all your questions but still leftist open for more books in the future.
Meh. Weak writing, weak storytelling, slut shaming and rampant girl on girl hate :[
I liked the idea of a Hades/Persephone retelling/sequel/whatever, the idea was interesting, but the first in the series was by far the strongest, and it still fell short. The second and third books in the series read more like awkward sloppy fanfiction than a follow up and conclusion to the story :\

After reading these 3 books I can only say I found thise version of Hades a big sissy
The Goddess Inheritance is the final book in the Goddess Test trilogy.
I really liked the idea behind this story - Persephone and Hades's relationship but in a YA novel. At the time, it was kind of mind blowing for me. I was used to seeing vampire novels pop up everywhere, so this was a nice change.
So, that being said - let's look over the positives and negatives in this story. This MAY contain minor spoilers - so beware.
Positives:
1. This series had a really nice ending. I didn't feel like anything was left wide open and it wasn't an ending that destroyed me and made me hate Aimee Carter! Great job!!!
2. The cover is absolutely gorgeous! I like this series covers, so if you judge by covers this might be the series for you!
3. I really like Henry. I almost want a book just centered around a character like him and watch his character continue to grow. I felt like his character was WAY more likable than Kate, and we're following her story...
4. The side characters got more action in this book!! Gotta love when the author actually uses their side characters instead of throwing them away to focus on the main duo.
Negatives:
1. Man was this book SLOW. This whole series isn't the fastest paced or most addicting, but still book felt drawn out. This story felt like it could have been finished in two novels.
2. Kate is annoying, at least to me. I didn't find that her character developed enough over the three books, and she still felt just as whiny as the first novel. I kind of hoped for some wild character development in this book since the last book didn't have very much, so I was left disappointed. Perhaps she's almost...too flawed?
Overall, this book is a great romance YA novel. It's not super action-packed. It's definitely a good fit for the romance section. I need to read more by Aimee Carter soon, I just never seem to be able to have the time! At least it's nice to see her books pop up a LOT in my local book stores. She's always on the shelves!!
I definitely recommend this entire series to fans of YA, especially those who want a great romantic read!
Four out of five stars.
