I’m not rating this one because I recently stopped giving stars to those who write about their lives but despite the name dropping - learned a lot about Rebel and her rise to fame & coming to terms with her sexuality /identity.

I enjoyed listening to this one. I found the childhood parts very raw and honest.

You know, I will always root for the bigger queens but also like her story didn’t feel like it had a strong message. A lot felt braggadocios or like a diary. It did make me rewatch a lot of her movies but also it gave me her weight loss obsession. I found myself calorie counting bc of her lol like why was the message I hate my weight and I was only happy after?

I don't think anyone spends time reading a biography about someone they don't like. So already going into the book, I was getting into something I hafl epected to find somewhat interesting. also, I am not a big fan of biographies, so I knew there was going to be things I was not going to enjoy as much as reading a work of fiction.
This book doesn't give much new infomration about Rebel. Since she was thrown into stardom after Bridesmaids, I have follow her work, not faithfully, but quite consistenly. Her private life hasn't been overly exposed, but it wasn't unknown. so there was not much new information on any of those regards.
We get a small glipse into the backgroud of some of her work, her rise to fame, her motherhood journey and her relationships.
I agree with some of the reviews I have read about this book not giving much in the way of excitement, but then again, it does give us a personal protrait of an artist that we like (again, assuming noone who doesn't like her will read the book).

Hilarious, juicy and heart warming ❤️

A fairly interesting light read about Rebel's life. Not as deep and meaningful as other memoirs, but a good intro to her life
