Most of the book is everything you want in a celebrity memoir—all the Hollywood gossip and glamor. The icky part is the framing…it’s structured as a weight loss success story from the very first page which just struck me as reductive and one dimensional considering everything else in the book.

I really enjoyed this! I always have a hard time with memoirs because it feels weird to assign a rating to someone’s life. I can see this not working for some people because there isn’t a ton that happens but it felt nice just getting to know more about Rebel and her life growing up.

Thank you Rebel for sharing parts of your life with us. It was interesting to learn about your life in a more intimate way than the bs the media likes to push. I have loved you since Pitch Perfect. Fat Amy is a hoot.
