Not quite what I was looking for but this still absolutely slaps. Much like your traditional fae shenanigans, this book subverts the classical depiction of Cinderella. Unfortunately, I am still very much held hostage by the pure genius of Half a Soul that had me kicking my feet in the air, but this book is still very enjoyable.

It seemed to have an equal balance of plot and romance, however, both were done in such a meh manner, that I didn't feel an overwhelming sense to suffocate myself via pillow out of happiness as I did the first book.

I will only read faerie fantasy if it's like this. I'm so invested in each story, I finished each of the first two books in less than a few days. Love love loved the romance (proof that you don't need smut for a good romance, with chemistry between the leads!) and the characters are all very loveable (+ so many amazing female characters).
I will now read the last of the trilogy (or is there more to come...? Please?) and then probably everything else Olivia Atwater has ever written.
