Not much to say other than I don't think this short story needed to exist as a standalone. It was enjoyable to read but I think this could have been added to the first book rather than it being its own book.

I enjoyed this quite a bit more than the first novella. Finally getting some relationships and understanding of who Binti is as a person. Solid.
2.5
Great insight into Binti's character and how she begins to cope with her trama. I still didn't vibe with the writing style though unfortunately and I wish the side characters were fleshed out more because I like them!

this short story bridges the first and second book- I appreciated this story as it expands on Binti’s psyche: she is suffering from panic attacks from witnessing the murder of her university fellows. So yea, she’s not doing great.
Binti has a camping night with her friends and tries to sort through her trauma…
