What am I supposed to think? It was a fun time. Definitely one of the weirdest plays I've ever read and I kind of resented it at first, but now I "slowly" came to appreciate it and wished to keep reading and so I did at 12:30 am.
As an actor I think this can really help with improv and the like. The kookiness of it is very inspiring and as the action went on I could tell which character was which without really looking at the names before the lines.
I still have no idea what anything means, but I've found myself pondering randomly throughout the day. I'll just have to read some other reviews and gather more information. I'm going now. Bye.

I knowwww that the whole point is that they're waiting for Godot but still found it dull, repetitive, pretentious; men's work.

Proof that plays are better seen than read. I read this well over a year ago and thought it was nice enough, but is it ever a riot to see performed. The slapstick translates far better to the stage than it does the page and the delivery of the lines leaves a lot of room for Estragon and Vladimir's chemistry to be explored. (The person playing Lucky was also breathing quite heavily the whole time and it's distressing but it's continuous presence is something you can't do quite as well on the page...) It's probably irrelevant to talk about what the book isn't as opposed to what it is. Waiting for Godot, in any medium, is a quintessential absurdist comedy. Are we in a dystopia? A warped version of the everyday world? A space of total nonsense? Totally up to the reader. Just sparse enough to allow for interpretation and brimming with character and wordplay.

Liked the idea and found the monotonous predicament of the the two characters very relatable (kind of)/(unfortunately). However, the continuously circular dialogue and repetitions made it a very plodding read (even though they contributed to the effectiveness of the execution of the play's meaning/[lack of]). Double-edged sword i guess.

Did only the English read to get a grasp on it. A funny if confusing time. I think I need to see the play to make more sense of it. I am looking forward to doing a later French read.
