A beautiful story about phantoms not able to move on to the afterlife until they’ve found their peace. The topics are definitely heavy and I was sobbing often.
I think you could read this on its own and understand everything. The Fabric of Our Souls felt.. different from this story. I think the goal was to showcase how Landon sees the world and how he himself is poetic but it was an adjustment after reading TFOOS.
Personally, I couldn’t give it five stars just because I feel like Ophelia’s character didn’t have enough growth for me. I felt like we had the same conversation or inner monologue with her over and over again.
Aside from that I have no complaints. I loved the idea of the phantoms and how they’re watching the world, unable to move on. I also liked how mental illness was addressed and portrayed in this, it was very relatable.
