-SPOILERS AHEAD-

This was shit, and I don't mean the good kind like in the previous books. This was actual garbage, and it really showed all of the flaws of the previous books but without any of the insanity and craziness that was present before. I just don't think this lived up to the hype, and it was too long. Too much importance was put on things that I didn't particularly care about and didn't really matter, like 20% of the book being an epilogue, and not enough importance was put on the things that actually mattered like the identity of the stalker.

The way the mystery was unravelled was so lame and it was honestly really obvious. From the start of book 1, Martin was a suspicious guy, and from book 2, I had already started suspecting her mum as well with the way she was behaving so strangely. The other characters like Cartwright and Daniel were too obvious to be the correct answer, so the only other options left were the mum and Martin.

I honestly don't even blame the mum for being Ted . The stuff she did was terrible, but at the same time, she just wanted her daughter to have the best life that she could. Yes, she didn't go about it the right way, but at the end of the day, she was actually a good mother. She killed for Story, she fucked strangers for Story, she manipulated for Story. All of the bad things she did WERE for Story. Sure, she was power hungry as well, but she wanted power for both her AND Story. Her life revolved around her daughter, and I don't agree with the way she let Story just be manipulated by the 3 men, but I understand why she did it. I honestly wish she got away with her so-called crimes because in my eyes, she didn't do anything wrong; no sane parent would want their child to be with 3 abusive manipulative men.

Tristian, Killian, and Rath may have changed and become kinder, but at the end of the day, that doesn't change the way they treated her before. They raped her, humiliated her, and completely turned her life upside down. I didn't particularly care for their redemption arc because I just don't see any redemption for guys like these. While Rath was the only one who didn't rape her, he did other unacceptable things as well.

I often draw the line at rape in books, so by this logic, Rath should be forgiven, but I can't forgive him. He was complacent and even helped the others assault story, so in my eyes, he's just as bad as the others, if not worse; he claims that he doesn't want to force Story into anything but he doesn't have any scruples about his friends assaulting her so is he really any better than them?

Even after reading this book, I still don't like these men, and really, this book is just encouraging men to act in this way and promoting that women should forgive abusive guys because they have changed. The scars that are on Story's chest will remain with her for life, and while they have positive connotations now, it doesn't change the fact they were initially a punishment. I just can't get behind the idea of Story betraying her mother for guys like that.

While Story forgiving these guys was an issue I had, it definitely wasn't a major one. I already knew she was going to forgive them and love them, so I was prepared for that, and it wasn't really a surprise. However, what I was not expecting was how long this book was going to be.

This book did not need to be this long; I did not need to read boring and repetitive sex scenes over and over again when there was an actual plot to be delved into. The stalker plotline was such a main focus of this trilogy, and yet it got resolved in the matter of a few pages, so it left most of the book with shit I didn't care about. I was bored, and there was nothing really going on. There wasn't enough ludicrousness for me to be entertained, and really, that was the only thing these books had going on for them, so if you take that out of the equation, you are just left with a bland monotonous tale.

Not to mention the absolutely vile brother and sister kink that was going on. This was honestly my biggest issue because I have an older brother, so it's just so weird to be reading about 2 people fucking but calling each other little sister and big brother. It repulsed me so much that I seriously considered dnfing because of that. I honestly don't understand why so many other reviews aren't talking about this?? Like what is so hot about that, it's honestly just disgusting and yes I am kink shaming anyone that does this because its just fucking weird. I understand if it was like more of a step sister and step brother thing, but the way they were talking about it seemed more like they were biological siblings and incest is not something I'm willing to get behind on.

This was such a shit finale, and it was honestly disappointing, but I have to give it to the authors because they did a good job at making me want to read this entire garbage so hats off to them. Other than that, there's nothing positive to say about this.
