There were parts of this story that I really liked, but there were more parts that I didn’t. I liked that Naomi & Michael built a friendship first, and I loved that they had good support outside of their relationships, whether that was friends or family.

What I didn’t like was that it was just so dull. Nothing really exciting happened - I reached the end and wondered if that was it. I did not like Naomi’s father or sister, but lost some respect for Naomi for never calling them out. It seemed like there was one conversation between them & everything was magically fixed. I lost respect for Michael for acting exactly like Naomi’s father & pushing her aside for hockey, and then getting angry when she distanced herself. But mostly, I lost respect for the book when I saw how sloppy the editing was. Case in point, Michael calls out a player for acting like a diva & tells him to stop acting like a pre-madonna. If I’m spending money on a book, I expect things like this to be caught in editing.

This book was cute but I felt like it was missing something. I like a slow burn love story but I found myself wanting more throughout the whole book. The story had potential to get deeper. The books saving grace were the cute moments between Michael and Naomi.
