Lots of things are wrapped up in this book but there’s definitely more to go! All the plot twists will have you on the edge of your seat for sure. The sneak peek of Empire of Storms was exciting.

absolutely nothing happens until the last 100 pages and the characters are so flat and boring. all of the plot points has no challenge in them and the characters easily obtained everything. the ending was exciting but i can’t believe i just read 500 pages of set up for that
some of the plot points seem completely random ie lysandra
chaol is finally not my least favorite character anymore

After reading The Assassin’s Blade and Heir of Fire, I seriously considered DNFing these books. Alas, I’m someone that likes to read all the books if I already have them and that was the case for Throne of Glass.
Now, SJM didn’t come to play for Queen of Shadows. I love powerful, strong-willed characters and QOS delivered that and much more. I’m still a proud Dorian simp (I screeched the second my man got that collar off) and I’m utterly in love with Aelin, Aedion, Manon, Elide, Nesryn, and Rowan. I’m still trying to forgive Chaol for spewing that much bs in one book.
Also, am I the only one with a soft spot for the ex-King of Adarlan (Dorian’s father)? Idk why his last seconds of life really killed me. Nevertheless, I’m glad Dorian killed him 😌✌🏻✨ My baby deserved that closure.
I’m still trying to find a book that matches the greatness of Crown of Midnight, but I must say that Queen of Shadows is now in second place.
Graphic: Blood, Death, Grief, Kidnapping, Murder, and Violence
Moderate: Torture, Suicidal thoughts, and Slavery
Minor: Pregnancy and Vomit
