what I liked:
there is no doubt in my mind that I will read every single book in this series. I love the stories so mch. The ballet aspect really called to me ever since I started watching pointe videos on my tik tok fyp haha. Sloane was such an amazing fm, her personality is really reflective of the training that she had to do in order to be a professional dancer. It was interesting that right of the bat we get a peak into her dating life which is what sets the tone for the the story and its climax.
what I didn’t like:
but because of that, I will say it kind of spoiled the book a bit. that opening scenes, gave wait to what our stories overall drama will be and I didn't particularly enjoy that. I prefer a little suspense. I will also say that using ballet as the place setting for this story was a good joy but i just wish it went into some of the darkness or trauma dancers go through. I love an element of danger or self harm to really pull in the alphas protective natures and vulnerability of the omega. But unfortunately we didn't get that so we can just move on.
I didn't really like the "friends to enemies" trope as well because it was very much one sided, i think if we are going to advertise that as a main plot point then it should've been fleshed out a bed more. it was honestly more so miscommunication troupe vs full on enemies after a point.
and lastly, I didn't really bond with the alphas. The bond just appeared and that was it, nothing about it all felt like pack. but that could be said for a lot of the relationships Sloan had. There's mention of her flighty parents and there is a clear trauma aspect there but it's just blown away. i think there is some proof edits that were needed.
special notes:
Overall, for what this story was, it was a four star. I enjoyed it, i recommend it, and I will be purchasing it. I received an e-arc of this story and all opinions are my own.
tropes:
friends-enemies-lovers
stalker
ballet romance
found family
triggers:
sports abuse
stalker
car accident
spice:
probably a 2, many scenes were delicious but overall it falls on a 2.

3.5 stars thoroughly enjoyed this one. There were a few things that bothered me, but mostly I loved it. This has been a good series although the first was the best.

While this story was so utterly sweet, and a little infuriating at times, it also was absolutely heartbreaking! I’m never prepared for the high emotions in Devyn’s stories and this one was the roughest yet. She conveys their feelings entirely too well!
I adore the blend of sweet romance and filthy mouthed spice. It made for a burning hot storyline for this pack!
I hope to see more omegaverse stories from her in the future!
